Agency for Cooperative HousingThe Agency for Cooperative Housing is the not-for-profit administrator of federal co-operative housing programs in PEI, Ontario, Alberta, and B.C. Their inventory of 259 tonnes CO2e is being reduced by focusing on waste reduction and paper use; and by implementing new policies around building heating. Angel Restoration IncAngel Restoration Inc. is a full service restoration company, dedicated to restoring property and contents damaged by water, fire, wind and other perils. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 429.3 tonnes CO2e by developing a recycling program, implementing a turn it off program, installing motion sensors and adjustable thermostats around the building and warehouse, and using weather stripping. ArtiZEN Home RenovationsArtiZEN Home Renovations is a full service renovation company in Vancouver, BC that specializes in residential home renovation, kitchen and bath remodeling and installation of green building materials/systems. They have set an ambitious three-year 20% reduction target against their baseline inventory of 26 tonnes CO2e, with strategies focused on staff commuting, paper consumption, and fleet replacement. Ash Creek AssociatesAsh Creek Associates is an environmental and geotechnical consulting firm located in Portland, Oregon. The company is working to reduce its annual GHG emissions of 119.7 tonnes CO2e by focusing on the opportunities for increase energy efficiency in its new greener building. AspenCleanAspenClean provides natural house cleaning, eco-friendly maid service, and green carpet cleaning services in the Vancouver, BC region. AspenClean is working to reduce its annual emissions of 44.3 tonnes CO2e by making bulk orders to reduce shipping needs, encouraging employees to carpool, and implementing a double-sided printing policy. Ballard Power SystemsBallard Power Systems is a manufacturer of zero-emission proton exchange membrane fuel cells. They aim to reduce their baseline inventory of 1350 tonnes CO2e through employee engagement, business travel reduction, and decreased paper consumption. BamboobinoBamboobino is a designer and manufacturer of unique line of children's wear and accessories made from soft bamboo fabric. They were able to immediately reduce their 4 tonne CO2e inventory by reducing paper and packaging. BC Teachers' FederationThe BC Teachers' Federation is a union of professionals representing British Columbia teachers. They are working on reduction strategies for their inventory of 360 tonnes CO2e of carbon under management in the areas of natural gas, electricity, commuting, paper and waste. They are a commercial power smart partner with BC Hydro and recently launched an energy retrofit project for their head office building in Vancouver. BEST Entertainment CorpBEST Entertainment Corp produces innovative family TV. They are working on reductions from their baseline inventory of 30 tonnes CO2e by focusing on business travel and decreasing their fleet size. Blue Pine Enterprises Ltd.Blue Pine Enterprise Ltd. is a full service landscaping construction company, servicing the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the BC Interior for over 10 years. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 878.5 tonnes CO2e through the implementation of a no idling policy, reducing paper use and engaging in employee education regarding site material planning, vehicle maintenance and office energy use reduction. Bluewater AdventuresBluewater Adventures offers multi-day, wildlife & wilderness eco-tours in coastal British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. With a baseline inventory of 106 tonnes CO2e, they are working to reduce paper consumption, and engage their employees & suppliers. BOMA BCBOMA BC is the Building Owners and Managers Association of British Columbia. BOMA BC is working to reduce its annual emissions of 8.6 tonnes CO2e by implementing policies to reduce office energy use, decrease paper use and purchase more recycled products and materials. Canadian SpringsCanadian Springs is Canada's largest national direct delivery company providing drinking water and coffee to both home and office customers. Canadian Springs is working to reduce its annual greenhouse gas emissions of 6,619.4 tonnes CO2e by testing more fuel efficient hybrid electric trucks, using more sophisticated route planning techniques and employing behavioural practices for its fleet such as idle reduction, speed reduction and better maintenance practices related to fuel consumption. The company provides factual information on both bottled and filtered water options to help customers choose what best suits their needs. Canadian Tourism CommissionThe Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is Canada’s national tourism marketing organization. A Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Canada, the CTC leads the Canadian tourism industry in marketing Canada as a premier four-season tourism destination. By primarily reducing its corporate business travel, the CTC plans to reduce its carbon footprint by 8% in just one year. CanopyCanopy (formerly Markets Initiative) is a non profit organization that works to protect the world's forests, species and climate by collaboratively engaging the business community and public to create a sustainable and innovative supply chain. Their baseline inventory is 109 tonnes CO2e, with a 10% reduction target focused on business travel. ChambarChambar restaurant offers an unpretentious fling with fine dining. Chambar is working to reduce its annual emissions of 91.2 tonnes CO2e by reducing waste through composting, completing a power smart evaluation with BC hydro and switching to all environmentally safe cleaning products. Choices MarketsChoices Markets is BC's grocery leader in natural, organic and gourmet foods. They are working to reduce their annual emissions through employee engagement, paperless advertising, and substantial capital investment to reduce energy use and encourage behaviour change within the organization. Clark Wilson LLPClark Wilson LLP is B.C.'s Law Firm for Business, providing a comprehensive range of commercial legal services to those doing business in British Columbia. Clark Wilson's baseline inventory of 545 tonnes of CO2e is being reduced through employee engagement strategies such as office supply amnesty days and initiatives to reduce paper consumption. Clayburn Village Community SocietyThe Clayburn Village Community Society is the successor to the Clayburn Athletic Society which was originally established in 1917 to promote community spirit with recreational, cultural and athletic endeavors. These objectives have expanded to include promoting the educational value of local history and encouraging the preservation of heritage sites.. The Clayburn Village Community Society is working to reduce its annual emissions of 526.4 tonnes CO2e by installing energy efficient lighting, adjusting heat in unused areas, increasing furnace maintenance, reducing paper use and informing residents of available energy efficient technology. Coast Blackcomb SuitesCoast Blackcomb Suites at Whistler is a ski-in-ski-out hotel located in Whistler on Blackcomb Mountain. The hotel is working to reduce its annual emissions of 643.7 tonnes CO2e through energy efficiency investments including a hybrid heating system, implementation of recycling and composting programs, and guest/employee engagement among other initiatives. Columbia InstituteThe Columbia Institute is committed to nurturing leadership for inclusive, sustainable communities. They calculated a baseline inventory of 29 tonnes CO2e with Climate Smart, and have set up systems to continue tracking emissions. CommunicopiaCommunicopia is a Web 2.0 firm that assists companies in communicating their stories to the public. Communicopia is working to reduce its annual emissions of 54.5 tonnes CO2e by sourcing locally, reducing energy use and implementing a composting program. Corporate Images Holdings LtdCorporate Images Holdings Ltd is the producer of high quality contemporary easy-to-assemble SonaxTM home furnishings and is located near Vancouver, BC. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 850.8 tonnes CO2e by installing room occupancy sensors and energy efficient lighting to reduce electricity use, reducing paint waste, utilizing the more efficient dust collection unit, engaging their employees in sustainability initiatives, increasing facility insulation and installing more recycling stations in their facility. Costless ExpressCostless Express delivers office, grocery and janitorial supplies, and coffee, next business day to any business in the Lower Mainland. Their baseline inventory is 400 tonnes CO2e, with an ambitious 8% reduction target achieved by maximizing operational fleet efficiency and engaging with employees on staff commuting. Costless Express is now a carbon neutral company. Council of Tourism AssociationsThe Council of Tourism Associations advocates and educates on behalf of the tourism industry in British Columbia. They have set a reduction target of 5% against their 45-tonne CO2e baseline inventory, to be achieved through business travel and paper consumption reductions. Courtenay Agencies Ltd.Courtenay Agencies Ltd. offers complete global solutions for import and export needs. Their baseline inventory of 107 tonnes CO2e is being reduced through business travel and staff commuting strategies. They plan on offsetting their emissions to achieve carbon neutrality. Dayton and Knight Ltd.Dayton and Knight Ltd. is a consulting engineering firm that provides a full range of project services from problem identification and design to project management during construction, commissioning and training. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 231.9 tonnes CO2e by investigating video conferencing software to reduce employee travel, educating employees on how to reduce their GHG footprint and implementing a competition between the two offices around GHG reductions. Delta Whistler Village SuitesDelta Whistler Village Suites is an all-suite hotel that is located in the heart of Whistler Village. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 1,007.4 tonnes CO2e by reducing the temperature of their hot water heater by a few degrees, investing in pool and hot tub covers, setting print default to double sided, performing an energy audit, launching a "switch off" program and installing motion sensors in housekeeping and storage rooms. Directional Mining & Drilling Ltd.Directional Mining & Drilling Ltd. was launched 20 years ago during the infancy of directional drilling and is one of the oldest, continuously operating directional drilling companies in Canada. They have extensive experience in all types of ground conditions and were the first to install grade lines by means of directional drilling. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 914.4 tonnes CO2e by reducing office paper use, setting up a recycling program, implementing a "no idle" policy, reducing heat and electricity use and revamping project planning to reduce the amount of unnecessary trips to and from the shop. Eclipse AwardsEclipse Awards specializes in crystal recognition awards and green awards for the corporate awards market. They calculated a baseline inventory of 32 tonnes CO2e and have invested in natural lighting and green roofing technology to achieve a five-year, 10% reduction target, while also creating a healthy and inspiring workplace. Ecoworks Landscape ServicesEcoworks Landscape Services, provides landscape maintenance services and operates as a social enterprise giving employment opportunities to those with barriers to employment. Ecoworks is working to reduce its annual emissions of 82.9 tonnes CO2e by reducing fuel consumption of its vehicle fleet by outfitting vehicles with LED light systems, implementing an anti-idling policy, revising vehicle usage to reduce distances traveled, and potentially installing GPS systems in its vehicles. Freybe Gourmet Foods, Ltd.Freybe Gourmet Foods, Ltd. is a 6th generation family run business, manufacturing deli meats, sausages, hams and other specialties according to European traditions. Freybe is working to reduce its annual CO2 emission through improved natural gas heating and cooking systems in order to sustain the future for generations to come. FrogboxFrogbox distributes reusable plastic totes as a low environmental impact alternative to traditional cardboard moving boxes. Frogbox is working to reduce its annual emissions of 6.7 tonnes CO2e by using 100% recycled paper, running a higher concentration of bio diesel in the summer months, and improving routing to minimize kilometres driven per order. FrogfileFrogfile is a resource for office supplies, including the best green products to fulfill sustainability commitments. They aim to reduce their 28-tonne CO2e baseline inventory by 5% through the use of biodiesel in its delivery vehicle, managing a green roof and offering employees incentives to use alternative forms of transportation. Gillingham CabinetsGillingham Cabinets is among the largest cabinet manufacturers on Vancouver Island, and is based in Duncan BC. Gillingham Cabinets is working to reduce its annual emissions of 182 tonnes CO2e. In the first year it will eliminate half of them by recycling 95% of waste material and offcuts. Glacier Creek Contracting Ltd.Glacier Creek Contracting Ltd. is a leading contractor in Whistler, BC. serving the Sea to Sky corridor. Glacier Creek is working to reduce its annual emissions of 698 tonnes CO2e by switching to recycled paper and reducing usage, purchasing diesel trucks to try to use the biodiesel available in the area, encouraging ride sharing, and conducting a waste audit to assess and reduce waste streams. Good Planet CompanyThe Good Planet Company is a Victoria-based retailer of eco-friendly lifestyle products from around the world. Good Planet is working to reduce its annual emissions of 2.5 tonnes CO2e by ordering in larger quantities to reduce frequency of shipments, favoring companies closer to home, looking into a way for customers to offset the carbon footprint from their order, eliminating biodegradable plastic bags and encouraging customers to bring their own reusable bags, focusing on new products that encourage self-sufficiency, are made from recycled materials or are easily recyclable, serve a purpose and will last for years. Great Pacific AdventuresGreat Pacific Adventures is a locally owned and operated certified outdoor adventure company in Victoria, BC. They measured their inventory of 278.9 tonnes CO2e with climate smart, and have worked toward reductions through waste reduction in their operations. Green over GreyGreen over Grey is a leading design firm that specializes in the creation of spectacular interior or exterior living walls (aka green walls or vertical gardens). They aim to reduce their baseline inventory of 12.4 tonnes CO2e through a number of strategies. These include, among others, reducing flights (by teleconferencing), sourcing products locally, composting, incorporating more trees into their designs, suggesting south facing living walls to clients and switching to 100% recycled paper. Green Table NetworkThe Green Table Network puts sustainability on the menu through innovative solutions that measurably reduce the impact of the restaurant & foodservice industry, along with its supply-chain, on the planet. Their baseline inventory is 1.8 tonnes CO2e. GreenOne VenturesGreenOne Ventures is an holistic company that designs and produces stylish organic tote bags and tees utilizing artwork by local talent. In addition to manufacturing sustainable products, GreenOne is also active in creating carbon-reduced yoga workshops and business retreats. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 84.6 tonnes CO2e through sourcing local and organic products, cutting back on air travel, and reducing waste by recycling more. Halfmoon Yoga ProductsFor over twenty years Halfmoon Yoga Products has been creating quality and innovative yoga props, meditation gear, clothing and lifestyle products to support daily wellness practices. Halfmoon Yoga Products is working to reduce its annual emissions of 43.4 tonnes CO2e by using recycled paper, implementing an office compost program, improving hot water efficiency, and researching organic sourcing and product recycling opportunities. Hip BabyHip Baby offers modern, sustainable and organic products for your newborn baby to 6 year olds. Cloth diapers, baby slings, kids toys, meal time, baby & kids clothing, bath time and more. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 2.2 tonnes CO2e by reducing paper consumption, sourcing environmentally friendly goods, ordering larger volumes of goods less frequently and installing energy efficient lighting and light timers. Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver DowntownThe Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown provides business, family and conference traveler friendly accommodation with plentiful amenities. The Holiday Inn & Suites Vancouver Downtown is working to reduce its annual emissions of 856.7 tonnes CO2e through implementing a guestroom and meeting room recycling program, increasing the existing administrative recycling effort, reducing internal paper and paper product use, modifying lighting and water flow and encouraging carpooling among employees. Jamie's Whaling StationJamie's Whaling Station holds the title of the first whale watching company on the west coast and the summer of 2008 marked their 26th season. To reach their 10% reduction target for 2008, they purchased new propellers that yield a lower per hour fuel consumption, longer shelf life for the motor and a reduction in emissions. Their baseline inventory was 723 tonnes CO2e, which they plan on offsetting to achieve carbon neutrality. Janitors' WarehouseJanitors' Warehouse is the leading distributor of high quality, environmentally considerate cleaning supplies. They strive to reduce their baseline inventory of 348 tonnes CO2e by 12% through implementing simple strategies around building efficiency. King Pacific LodgeKing Pacific Lodge is a luxury wilderness lodge on the Central Coast, which has a carbon footprint of 492 tonnes CO2e. They have committed to cut their carbon by 50 percent between 2007 & 2011 and offset the remainder to be a carbon neutral company. Light House Sustainable Building CentreLight House Sustainable Building Centre is an enterprising non-profit society dedicated to advancing and catalyzing sustainability in British Columbia's built environment. They offer a range of free and fee-based programs and services out of their resource and exhibition centre in Vancouver, BC. Light House is working to reduce its annual emissions of 15.2 tonnes CO2e through energy efficiency retrofits and reduced business travel. Long Beach Lodge ResortLong Beach Lodge Resort is a resort hotel located near Tofino, BC. With Climate Smart, they calculated their baseline inventory of 318 tonnes CO2e, and set an ambitious one year reduction target of 10%. Lowe Martin GroupThe Lowe Martin Group provides commercial and digital print, direct mail, warehousing and logistics, and e-Business solutions. Lowe Martin is working to reduce its baseline inventory of 15,979.1 tonnes CO2e through strategies aimed at improving transportation efficiency, reducing energy consumption, cutting back on air travel and engaging employees around commuting habits. Metropolitan Fine PrintersMetropolitan Fine Printers completed the Climate Smart Program at the end of March 2010. Climate Smart assisted Metropolitan with a strategy to become carbon neutral by early summer of 2010. The company identified ways to reduce annual emissions of CO2e by achieving zero waste, sourcing locally where possible, and implementing a paper reduction plan and staff engagement program. Miles Industries Ltd.Miles Industries Ltd. is North America's exclusive designer, manufacturer and distributor of Valor Radiant Gas Fireplaces. They are working with their suppliers to design a pilot light system that has a timed remote shut-off. This will reduce their total inventory of 2,369 tonnes CO2e by 1,165 tonnes CO2e. North Shore Credit UnionNorth Shore Credit Union is a financial institution offering banking, investment, lending, and insurance services for individuals and small business. North Shore Credit Union is working to reduce its annual emissions of 470.2 tonnes CO2e through employee engagement strategies aimed at conserving energy, encouraging alternative transportation, and reducing waste. North Vancouver Chamber of CommerceThe North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit organization comprised of businesses, professionals, residents and other community groups working together to ensure a healthy economy and environment to benefit the entire community. The Chamber is working to reduce its annual emissions of 5.3 tonnes CO2e by bulk ordering supplies, allowing employees to work from home, weather stripping doors and windows, turning of office equipment at night, encouraging double sided printing and teleconferencing. Otter Farm and Home Co-operativeThe Otter Farm and Home Co-operative is an agricultural and home product co-op located in the Township of Langley. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 1901.2 tonnes CO2e through upgrading lighting in warehouses, performing energy efficiency capital investments at their car wash facilities, installing GPS units for fleet route optimization, and implementing a "turn it off" campaign. Pacific Arbour Retirement CommunitiesPacific Arbour Retirement Communities provides community-focused retirement living in Metro Vancouver. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 888.1 tonnes CO2e through energy efficiency investments, staff commuting incentives, and waste auditing to increase composting & recycling. Pacific Coach LinesPacific Coach Lines offers convenient coach service between the Lower Mainland, Victoria, and Whistler. They have determined 2009 to be their base line year and they are in the process of creating carbon emission targets for the next three years. Their business model includes a concern for a healthy environment and they have branded their coach services accordingly. Parissa LabsParissa Labs manufactures natural, at-home hair removal products. Parissa Labs is working to reduce its annual emissions of 195.7 tonnes CO2e by improving supply delivery routing, making efficiency improvements in the production process, encouraging carpooling, and offering web and tele-conference solutions to replace business travel. Peak VenturesPeak Ventures is a general contractor operating out of Whistler. Peak Ventures is working to reduce its annual emissions of 93.4 tonnes CO2e through reducing trips to work sites, cutting back on paper consumption, and increasing waste diversion at office and work sites. Penner & AssociatesPenner & Associates is a leading sustainable interiors firm that provides a full complement of design services and specialized expertise to the commercial, institutional and residential sectors. p+a furniture's line of residential and contract furnishings offers solutions that exemplify a simple and modern aesthetic, while being inherently sustainable. Both companies are working to reduce their combined annual emissions of 10.4 tonnes CO2e by optimizing operations. Principessa Beauty Inc.Principessa Beauty Inc. offers a spa experience with self-pampering at its finest with an array of signature feminine bath & body products. Principessa Beauty Inc. is working to reduce its annual emissions of 63.3 tonnes CO2e by implementing a recycling program and reducing company air travel. Prism EngineeringPrism Engineering (British Columbia) provides mechanical and electrical engineering services to improve clients' building efficiency and performance. Prism Engineering is working to reduce its annual emissions of 88 tonnes CO2e. PW Trenchless Construction IncPW Trenchless Construction Inc offers trenchless installations of utility infrastructure. PW Trenchless is working to reduce its annual emissions of 270.1 tonnes CO2e through retrofitting their heating system with heat pumps and purchasing hybrid company vehicles as they need to be replaced. Quay Property Management CorpQuay Property Management Corp is a property development and management company specializing in commercial, retail, and public markets. They are working to reduce their annual emissions through the introduction of organic waste composting, paper reduction strategies, and green commuting incentives. Recycling AlternativeRecycling Alternative has been providing recycling services to businesses throughout the Lower Mainland since 1989. In addition to running its fleet on high blends of recycled biodiesel, Recycling Alternative is working to further reduce its annual emissions of 123.5 tonnes CO2e through fleet management initiatives including driver education and smart routing. Ryan VendingRyan Vending is a leading provider of Vending, Food and Office Coffee Services in British Columbia. Ryan Vending is working to reduce its annual emissions of 351.3 tonnes CO2e through implementing an electricity reduction program and reducing their vehicle fleet. Saul Good Gift Co.Saul Good Gift Co. is the leading supplier of sustainable corporate gifts in Vancouver, BC. Saul Good Gift Co. is working to reduce its annual emissions of 3.7 tonnes CO2e by investigating courier options with hybrid vehicles, eliminating the majority of print advertising, participating in a neighbourhood materials exchange, and using 95% post consumer recycled cardboard for all their gift baskets. Sewell's MarinaSewell's Marina is located in Horseshoe Bay and offers moorage, boat rentals, salmon fishing and nature tours. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 433.1 tonnes CO2e by reducing office electricity consumption, diverting heat use in the winter from unused areas, switching to an electronic reporting system, purchasing paper with higher recycled content and continuing their relationship with Mercury Marine to improve the fuel efficiency of their engines. Sierra SystemsSierra Systems is an IT and management consulting services company with more than 1000 employees in 13 markets in North America and a development center in Romania. Business travel, which comprised the majority of their 776 tonne CO2e inventory, has been targeted to achieve 10% emission reduction. Soyaworld Inc.Soyaworld Inc. is a leading manufacturer of beverages offering a variety of health-oriented and nutritious milk alternative products. They preformed a greenhouse gas inventory for their facility on Annacis Island. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 4,817.4 tonnes CO2e by switching to T5 lighting, installing auto adjusting thermostats, changing their air compressor to a variable speed controlled unit, reducing the number of ammonia compressors and using the Fire Guard and Autoflame systems to reduce natural gas use. spud!spud! (Small Potatoes Urban Delivery) is an online food delivery company that provides local and organic food to its customers. It serves the communities of Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. spud!'s companywide carbon footprint in 2008 was 1,153 tonnes CO2e. After reducing the carbon emissions directly under its control by 9% in 2008, the company's 2009 goal is to maintain its greenhouse gas emissions intensity at the 2008 level. spud! is committed to being carbon neutral and will purchase carbon offsets to achieve that goal. Stevens PrintingStevens Printing is a printing company based in Portland, Oregon. Stevens Printing is working to reduce its annual emissions of 703.9 tonnes CO2e through using eco-friendly inks, performing efficiency retrofits, and engaging in smart delivery routing to minimize fleet mileage. Surrey Board of TradeThe Surrey Board of Trade represents over 3,600 business contacts. It provides advocacy for business at all levels of government, networking opportunities, cost-saving benefits, access to international markets and professional development. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 30.4 tonnes CO2e by performing an energy audit, turning off office equipment and lights at night, reducing paper consumption and encouraging carpooling to and from events. Syntaris Power CorporationSyntaris Power Corporation is an independent power provider that is dedicated to creating and delivering safe, clean, renewable energy in BC. They are working to reduce their annual emissions of 85.1 tonnes CO2e through various reduction strategies aimed to provide incentives for staff taking public transit, purchase energy star equipment when possible, reduce paper consumption, implement a "switch it off" campaign and encourage employees to teleconference and videoconference to substitute travel whenever possible.
