Kelowna Businesses Getting Climate Smart

Kelowna’s first Climate Smart workgroup kicked off last Thursday, July 16. Ten businesses and organizations met at the Best Western – Kelowna for their first session and learned about measuring their greenhouse gas emissions. Beth Breisnes of Salt Spring Coffee, one of Climate Smart’s alumni, spoke to the group about the company’s process to date of measuring, reducing and offsetting its emissions. The group will meet again in early September for the second workshop in the series, which focuses on identifying opportunities to reduce emissions and save costs.
