Climate Smart provides a unique service that equips small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to measure and profitably reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Climate Smart offers a hands-on workshop series, a web-based GHG management tool, one-on-one technical assistance, expert review of GHG inventories, and custom data analysis.

We are seeking to build a diverse team focused on business development and client relations. We are looking for team players, excellent communicators and detail-oriented people with knowledge and experience in some combination of the following: GHG management, climate change, corporate sustainability, and small business.

Climate Smart is a social enterprise that was developed by Ecotrust Canada as a strategic response to climate change and the urgent need to make a transition to a low carbon economy.

Overall Responsibilities: Climate Smart Client Relations Manager will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring seamless delivery of Climate Smart's services to a growing group of existing clients
  • Tracking client progress to ensure they are meeting the requirements for high levels of program participation
  • Preparing internal and external reports and communications regarding client progress
  • Participating in regular team meetings to share best practices and resolve pertinent business development and program delivery issues
  • Assisting with sales, presentations, proposals and systems building
Qualifications:
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven experience with sales
  • Experience with the specific strengths and challenges of small businesses
  • Education and training in fields relating to climate change, GHG management, small business, and/or corporate sustainability
  • Excellent organizational discipline and facility with logistics
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and SalesForce
  • Familiarity with GHG management strategies for business
  • Strong capacity for analytical and critical thinking
  • Goal oriented and comfortable with tracking results
